Monitor the locations of injecting drug use in the project area
Implement appropriate behavior change communication (bcc) strategies
Provide harm reduction services, including needle and syringe exchange
Provide condom education and distribution
Provide primary healthcare curative services and services for stis (stis) based on syndromic management using national guidelines
Provide education on sexual health and stis, and access to acceptable and appropriate services for stis
Provide access to voluntary counseling and testing services
Promote an enabling environment in the project area
Provide detoxification and rehabilitation activities
Outreach services
To visit the clusters of idus along road-sides, under the bridges, in graveyards, public parks and play-grounds, around railway stations and bus stops and on heaps of trash to:
Motivate them for taking treatment;
Teach them how to clean their needles/syringes;
Tell them about the risk of hiv/aids, stis and help them avoid sharing needles/syringes with their companions;
Educate them about safe sex so that they may be aware of the spread of hiv/aids through sexual activity including proper usage of condoms.
Provide them new syringes in exchange of their used syringes
